The following positions are currently available with GWTP:
Employment
Specialist: Adult Job Placement Services Unit
Position Responsibilities:
- Liaisons with local companies to identify job opportunities for
eligible area residents
- Recruits and screens intake candidates, assessing employment and
education needs of low-income community residents
- Places community residents into employment, conducts follow-up for
180 days
- Responsible for all required case file and program documentation
- Prepares job seekers for successful job search and interviews
- Networks with community agencies to provide access to project
services for their clients
Minimum Qualifications:
(1)
Minimum of 6 months of successful workforce development experience;
or 1 year of private sector experience hiring, supervising, and
evaluating employees; or 1 year of customer service experience.
(2)
Demonstrated commitment to community service and previous experience
working with low-income populations through prior professional
and/or volunteer experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities Required:
(1)
Proven ability to place low-income community members with employment
barriers into unsubsidized employment.
(2)
Ability to deliver employment counseling and pre-employment
training.
(3)
Knowledge of Chicago area employment trends and workforce needs.
(4)
Strong written and oral communication skills.
(5)
Proficient in computer use and working knowledge of Word, Excel,
and E-mail applications.
(6)
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus; WIA experience helpful.
Salary and
Benefits: This is a full
time, permanent, career position. The salary range is from $27,000
to $34,000 per year based on skills and experience. The agency
benefit package includes health, life, disability insurance;
retirement plan; bonus program and educational reimbursement.
